Community Safety and Transport Management MEC introduces new substantive Head of the Department
The Bokone Bophirima Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Dr, Mpho Motlhabane has formally introduced the new substantive Head of the Department.
Introducing Ms Botlhale Anna Mofokeng as the new He
ad of Administration for the Department, MEC
Motlhabane said the HoD will drive all initiatives
aimed at ensuring that the people of Bokone
Bophirima do not only live in an environment that i
s free of crime but also continue to provide them
with affordable and accessible transport services a
s well as guarantees a reduction of fatalities on a
ll
our roads.
Her experience boasts an impressive record within t
he public service, having worked and risen
through the ranks from a position of Community Deve
lopment Officer, through Deputy Director for
IDP position, late becoming the Director for Financ
e and Support at the Department of Local
Government and Human Settlements up to a level of a
Chief Director responsible for Local
Governance.
“As the Department we are elated to be introducing
such an astute and complete public servant from
whom we expect a good personality, a complete leade
r, natural and humane inside and outwardly.
Having had a stint, working most difficult sphere o
f government, the municipalities as well as her
training as a social worker, we undoubtedly are in
safer hands.
You must never be afraid to be in
charge but never aspire to be popular.
You must lead us to greater heights and ensure the
department never fails in executing its mandate.”
said MEC Motlhabane.
The MEC further pleaded for cohesion, cooperation a
nd support from the senior management of the
department to be extended to Ms. Mofokeng at all ma
terial times. He said only this will help the
department to build a formidable and cohesive force
with the new Head of the Department like it
happened with all former heads and acting heads of
the department respectively.
Mofokeng’s education credentials stands her in good
stead for the task ahead as she has Masters in
Business Administration, B.Soc.Sc (Social Work) and
B.A (Social Work) all from the University of North
West. A complete and proud product of Bokone Bophir
ima.
Motlhabane expressed his gratitude to Mr Buti Chuma
for having served as the acting head of the
department. “He never hesitated to heed to the call
to act as the head of department albeit for a
short spell and this exemplifies the calibre of wor
kforce required to serve the public with passion,
dedication and humility. We further wish Mr Chuma t
he best of luck in his new responsibilities also at
the Office of the Premier,” concluded Motlhabane.
